Beginner Yoga

Over several weeks this series will focus on gently easing into yoga practice. Seated at first and then standing. Breath work and meditation included in each session.
Students should wear clothing that is easy to move in and non-restrictive. Students should bring a yoga mat (or two if mat is thin), 2 yoga foam blocks, Yoga Strap (8' is best, but 6' will also work).
Sessions will take place outdoors on the back lawn of The Art Station facility. Inclement weather may require a make-up of the class session or alternate indoor location TBD weekly on class day.

Modern Crazy Quilt

Let's update this quilt known as the Crazy Patchwork. Originally these quilts were made from scraps of luxury fabrics and embellished by beautiful buttons and embroidery. Later they were made from cotton, denim, gingham and wool, and embellished with quotes/sayings, Bible verses, ribbons and embroidery. We are going to make a modern version. Our patches are built on pieces of muslin and any fabrics you like and a printer with the capability to make image and text transfers. We'll embellish our quilts with all the special stitches that come with every sewing machine.
You'll need a sewing machine, 1 yard of muslin, scraps of fabrics of your choice and several different threads to machine embroider.

Acrylic Painting - Beginner to Intermediate

This class begins with a supply lesson, a value study lesson, and a color mixing lesson. Beginner painters will work on a simple landscape painting along with the instructor.
Intermediate to Advanced painters will work from a photo of their choosing. Students are advised to wait to purchase supplies until after the first class day's supply lesson.

Bob Ross Certified Instructor Jeremy Rogers walks you through step by step how to paint a beautiful Ross landscape, complete with "happy trees"! This is a light-hearted painting class totally focused on creating beauty and having fun! (Only Bob Ross supplies are used to give you an authentic experience.)
Please bring a roll of paper towels, small pkg of baby wipes and a cardboard box to carry your piece of art home with you—the paint will still be wet! The box needs to be big enough to hold a 12”x16” canvas.
