Summer Camp Rules and Instructions
These rules are intended to ensure the safety of all our campers.  Please read and follow them carefully.

Day 1: Plan to arrive 15 minutes early on the first day of camp to fill out your child(ren)'s Hold Harmless Agreement, pick up their nametag(s), and meet the summer camp staff. EACH CHILD MUST HAVE A COMPLETED HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT ON FILE TO PROCEED TO CLASS.

Reciepts: If you registered by phone, please pick up your reciept on the first day of camp. Unclaimed receipts will be destroyed at the end of your child(ren)'s camp.

Behavior: Our goal is to provide a safe, positive learning environment for all our campers. Please understand that behaviors that compromise our goal cannot be tolerated. Parents will be called and asked to pick up their child if their behavior is disruptive to the class or endangers themselves or others. Also, after the third such incident, you will be asked to remove your child permanently from camp and no refund will be issued.

Medical Conditions / Medications: Please inform the TAS front office staff of any special circumstances your child(ren) may have. (This information should also be noted on the Hold Harmless Agreement.) All medications must be delivered to the front desk in a bag with the child(ren)'s name(s) on it and written instructions. Especially in the case of allergic reactions, those instructions should include who to contact and any immediate action that needs to be taken. All medications should be picked up from the front desk on the last day of camp. Every effort will be made to contact you about forgotten medications; however, due to storage constraints, all unclaimed medications will be properly disposed of on August 1, 2012.

Arrival / Pick-Up Times: In order for us to provide proper supervision for the safety of your child(ren), do not bring them into the Art Station any earlier than 10 minutes before the start of camp. Likewise, please pick them up no later than 10 minutes after the end of camp.

Sign In / Out: Campers must be signed in and out of their classrooms by an authorized adult each day.

Non-Parental Pick-Up / Carpooling: If your child(ren) will be riding with a friend, neighbor, nanny or relative, please bring the front desk a note detailing the person's name, address, cell or home phone number and the dates the note is good for. All notes must be signed and dated. The person picking up your child(ren) must show identification at the front desk before signing the child(ren) out of their classroom(s).

Clothing: Art is sometimes messy! Children should wear comfortable, washable clothing suitable for painting (or drama). Also, NO FLIP-FLOPS OR CROCS, PLEASE! (These loose shoes can cause painful accidents.) Sandals that fasten securely to the foot or tennis shoes are acceptable.

Snacks: There is time set aside in each camp session for your child(ren) to play outside and enjoy a snack and a drink.
Please do not send items that need to be refrigerated. Water will be available.
SNACKS CONTAINING NUT PRODUCTS ARE NOT ALLOWED AND WILL BE CONFISCATED. Due to budgetary constraints, we WILL NOT be able to replace confiscated snacks this year.

Double-Session Campers: If your child(ren) is attending both a morning and an afternoon camp, they should bring a lunch. (The snack food rules apply to lunches.) Campers will be supervised during this time.

Daily Progress: Art projects often take more than one day to complete, so all your child(ren)'s work will remain at The Art Station until Friday. However, each day your camper(s) should come home with a handout summarizing what they learned that day so you can participate in their camp experience.

*Wheel Supplies: Middle school wheel pottery campers will need to wear old clothes (seriously, clay doesn't come out), and to bring an old towel (that mom never wants to see again). Also, bring a container with a lid--it should be large enough to accomodate both hands.  If you happen to have tools from a previous camp, feel free to bring them, otherwise we will have a class set for campers to use.

Donations: Finally, we include a list of "found" objects that would be highly useful for camp: sponges, paper plates, egg cartons, and clean plastic containers.
